The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu) is seeking a full-time assistant athletic trainer. This position provides: athletic training for football, women’s basketball, and cheerleading, with other sports assignments as necessary. Provide for the care, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and related problems, as well as oversee general administration of the athletic training facilities.
Established in 1882 through a joint partnership between the Churches of God, General Counsel and the city of Findlay, the University of Findlay has nearly 80+ majors leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 11 master’s degrees, a doctor of pharmacy, a doctor of physical therapy, a doctor of occupational therapy and an Ed.D. More than 3,700 students are enrolled at Findlay. A master’s degree in athletic training or related field is required. The candidate must possess BOC certification and Ohio licensure. Preference given to candidates with athletic training experience.
The physical demands of the position: walks, sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves continually during working hours. Is subject to lifting over 50 pounds. Must be able to lift raise or lower an object from one level to another (includes upward and pulling motion) of 50-75 lbs. and must be able to carry/transport an object/equipment weighing 50-75 lbs.
This job requires travel with designated athletic team to competitions and events.
