The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu) is seeking a full-time Assistant Men’s & Women’s Track & Field Coach (Emphasis Throws),. The assistant coach will work in coordination with the head coach in the operation of a NCAA Division II Men’s & Women’s Track and Field Program; maintain a thorough knowledge of, and abide by all NCAA, G-MAC and institutional rules and regulations. Failure to do so may lead to suspension or possible termination; attend all NCAA Compliance meetings as offered by the department; pass the NCAA recruiting examination annually; and is responsible for the actions of all assistant coaches, all program staff and the sport’s compliance with NCAA rules.
This job requires travel with athletic team to competitions and events. A valid US Drivers’ license with a safe driving record is required, and the energy and ability to travel. Some evening and weekend work, and some overnight travel are expectations of this position.

A bachelor’s degree is required, master’s degree is preferred, with three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level. The candidate must possess knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, rules and regulations of athletic associations and conferences including eligibility, recruiting and certification; ability to objectively evaluate physical performance and mental capabilities related to the intercollegiate athletic program; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, faculty, staff and the public; strong organizational, oral and written communication, time management and interpersonal skills; ability to protect confidential information and present a professional demeanor; team-oriented individual with willingness to take initiative and be flexible, and the ability to work under occasional pressure; ability to work effectively with an ethnic, cultural and diverse student population; ability to have vision and develop a plan for success; ability to identify and solve problems; ability to work without supervision and accomplish goals set forth by the administration and staff; public relations and promotion skills; knowledge of University and department policies and procedures; and knowledge of NCAA and G-MAC rules and regulations, including recruiting, eligibility and certification.
