Job Duties: Perform electrical engineering services necessary to design, install, support, train, and repair GROB’s proprietary systems sold to clients. Direct and control installation projects for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines and programmable logic controllers (PLC), specifically Siemens, Fanuc, Heidenhain and Bosch MTX, from beginning to end, starting-up equipment and customizing GROB-designed software programs for the proprietary machinery based on each customer’s requirements. Direct, research, design, develop, and test proper start-up and installation of equipment, special machine tools, machining centers, and assembly systems. Final commissioning of the machine drives system to make sure that the machine complies to certain standard motions. Train new employees to the Grob standard software concept and work with them hand-in-hand to make them familiar with our machine equipment. Conduct customer training with several control elements such as machine operation, troubleshooting of CNC control, PLC control, Profinet systems and ASI-systems.
Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign educational equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or other relevant such as Computer Engineering. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, we will accept two additional years of experience in the machining industry. Applicant must also have at least two years of experience in all of the following: debugging electrical hardware and software of high volume vehicle power train production machinery (machining and assembly); performing Transfer Machine maintenance; programming, installing, and maintaining Siemens, Fanuc, Bosch MTX and Heidenhain CNC and PLC machine controllers; and, conducting controls training on CNC transfer machines, CNC 5-axis machines and CNC loading systems for new employees and customers. Employer will accept any suitable combination of education, training, and/or experience in fulfillment of position requirements. Candidate must be willing to accept employment at varied shifts. Up to 20% travel domestically and may be upon short (e.g. one-hour) notice. May be required to remain on-site for extended period of time.
