The position is under the direct supervision of the Chief Deputy Clerk of the Juvenile Court. Duties include those outlined below and any other duties as directed by the Judge of Seneca County Juvenile Court/or the Court Administrator.
The Juvenile Deputy Clerk will be responsible for: the timely processing of all incoming and outgoing court documents and legal pleadings; scheduling of court hearings; distribution of paperwork; answering telephone calls; taking messages; providing general information to the public; problem solving; participating and attending continuing education programs and additional duties as directed.
The Clerk must be able to interact professionally and effectively with various divisions within the Court, the Court staff, the public, child support agencies, law enforcement, etc. The clerk must support the values of service, integrity, respect and cooperation and must be confidential and ethical. The Clerk must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor appropriate for the position.
AT WILL EMPLOYMENT:
Employees at the Court are at will employees and serve at the pleasure of the Judge. They are not in the classified civil service system and are not members of bargaining units.

The Juvenile Court is seeking an individual with experience in clerical work and working with the public.
Applicant must be: comfortable working with a computer; must be able to create Word documents; Excel documents; ability to be courteous and informative to the general public; ability to maintain a functional filing system; ability to follow oral and written instructions; must be organized; a self-starter, motivated and detailed oriented.
Applicant will need to successfully complete a criminal history background investigation and drug screen. Successful applicants will be subject to random drug screens and criminal history checks after employment.
Applicant is required by law to have a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain liability insurance and coverage as required by law.
