We have a new and exciting opportunity for multiple Directors of Business Development. We are looking for motivated and resourceful leaders with the business acumen and drive to cultivate and execute the company’s growth strategy by identifying and closing new opportunities, establishing and maintaining a pipeline of potential new clients and delivering significant revenues. The Directors will have the ability to showcase their innovation and strategic mindset by executing sales strategies to penetrate the market for new opportunities and expand our national footprint.


Essential Functions:

As a Director of Business Development for the organization, this role is customer facing and will strategically focus on the attainment of new business opportunities to support the company’s organizational goals of revenue growth and profitability.

Cultivate strong relationships with potential customers, vendors and GPOs towards the goal of closing new business.

Develop relationships and open lines of communication with all key members of supply chain.

Ongoing periodic relationship management with customer.

Negotiating and defining contract terms and conditions.

Creating efficiencies and opportunities within accounts to add value and profitability.

Engage in strategic conversationswith current customers and potential new customers. Develop a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the customer and how Concordance can assist them with attaining their goals

Work with Marketing, Zone VP and Sales departments on developing and implementing key initiatives and company organizational goals.

Networkingas a means to expand business opportunities.

Coordinate demosfor external accounts for solution programs, equipment opportunitiesand product conversions.

Assist with conducting QBRs and periodic support, as needed.

Performing account setup process and coordinate transfer to the Account Manager.

Prospect to align with company objectives for growth and penetration.

Involvement in professional organizations.

Develop a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of the customer and how Concordance can assist them with attaining their goals.

Manage business development pipeline.

Prepare and present customer targets and progress reports to management on a monthly basis.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Travel requirements of at least 50%.

Performs other duties as assigned.


Work Location:

Nationwide. This role can be located near an existing distribution center; however, job duties can be performed in a remote work environment with easy access to a commercial airport.

Job Requirements

What You will Need to be Successful: 

Bachelor’s degree in Business, finance or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Minimum of 7 years of healthcare industry leadership experience in areas such as sales, management, supply chain, customer development or service.

Must have in-depth understanding and knowledge all markets that Concordance serves and how it is best approached as well as the ability to recommend vendors for addition to our product portfolio.

Thorough understanding and experience with GPOs, IDNs, etc.

Proven successful experience in business development

Must possess demonstrated experience in successfully selling in all healthcare markets.

Experience with creating presentations for business development pitches as well as superior presentation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and present comprehensive reports. Ability to have difficult conversations when warranted (internal and external).

Ability to function well in a high-paced, competitive and at times stressful environment.

Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to exercise initiative, judgment, and discretion.

Proven knowledge of industry’s products and services; exhibits awareness of best sales practices and methods.

Capable of conducting independent market research.

Exhibits strong interpersonal, negotiation and customer service skills.

Must be able to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.

The ability to work under and handle pressure and meet deadlines.

Strong financial acumen.

Selected candidate will be required to sign a non-compete agreement.

Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
