We have a job opening and exciting opportunity for a full-time Director, Strategic Growth in any of our Concordance locations/Remote. The primary role of the Director of Strategic Growth is to drive the strategy and sales of 5-10 of the company’s preferred supplier partners. The Director will directly lead, negotiate and manage the development and implementation of successful market share expansion projects with assigned supplier partners.
 
Scope:
 
The Director of Strategic Growth will be responsible for the marketing strategy for branded supplier partners primarily in the acute care/health system markets, and secondarily in medical markets that are aligned with acute care. The Director will collaborate closely with the Concordance sales team and the supplier partner’s sales team, in order to execute Concordance’s strategic partner strategies in support of the company’s short term and long-term objectives. An essential function of this role is to drive alignment and engagement among several stakeholder groups both internally and externally. In addition, an ability to engender credibility within a large sales organization and understand and manage a sales cycle are vital. Responsible for accelerating the growth of Concordance’s strategic supplier partners. Partner closely with sales, and supplier representatives to drive collaboration among all the stakeholders who influence our success with strategic partners. The Director will be part of the Supplier Relations team with an accountability for maximizing the value of 5 to 10 strategic suppliers to Concordance and the value of Concordance to assigned strategic suppliers. Responsible for developing a strategic growth plan for assigned strategic suppliers, gaining alignment within both the Concordance team and the supplier and for executing the plan. The role will be responsible for expanding the value of strategic suppliers, measured as growth in revenue, profitability and the negotiation and capture of incentives. Responsible for providing information to Supplier Relations and Sales Leadership regarding supplier metrics/analytics, competitive activity, emerging trends in the industry and best practices, all determined through working with team members and through his/her active engagement with suppliers. The Director will be required to have strong relationships with key internal departments as well as supplier partners. It will be necessary to effectively collaborate with sales and departmental leaders in order to foster good communication and the sharing of best practices related to the company’s strategic branded suppliers. Another key scope area is the development of sales and customer-facing marketing programs and materials to support the growth of assigned suppliers. Skills and experience associated with supplier relations, sales, marketing, project management, and strategic planning will be important for success.

Essential Functions:

Accountable for leading strategic supplier relationships with Concordance’s strategic suppliers; includes establish strategic growth plans and implementation plans. Conduct quarterly reviews with strategic partners along with supplier relations and sales leadership.
Negotiate, analyze and track agreements to ensure incentives are achievable and meaningful.
Lead projects and influence/support sales team members to achieve annual sales and profitability goals with strategic suppliers. Provide clear understanding and constant feedback to the team on our/their progress toward agreed upon goals and objectives.
Partner with suppliers to uncover areas of opportunity to drive more business through the distribution channel.
Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities to resolution ensuring best practices and lessons learned are captured and applied broadly.
Build strong relationships with strategic supplier contacts and internal sales leaders and teams to keep a finger on the pulse of the industry and business in an effort to develop the most innovative and effective sales strategies with strategic portfolio partners.
Partner with operational supplier managers to ensure alignment of communications and prioritizations.
Partner with sales to develop campaigns and marketing/positioning strategies with our most aligned, strategic suppliers in order to accelerate revenue shift and incremental profitability.
Expand the use of and success from strategic business reviews with key strategic suppliers and optimize our supplier scorecard process.
Manage and track incentive program performance, and develop the next generation of strategic supplier partnership models. Report out effectiveness and success of programs.
Lead the development of innovative solutions aligned with Concordance’s strategic suppliers, along with sales, service and operations.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

What You will Need to be Successful: 

Bachelor’s Degree in business or related discipline.
Preference – MBA, with concentration in marketing, finance, business administration, supply chain or related discipline.
Minimum of 8 – 10 years of progressively responsible work experience in the healthcare industry or similar vendor relations role.
3-5 years of experience in a similar strategic sourcing, category management and/or channel management leadership role in the healthcare industry.
3-5 years of experience managing employees or collaborating very closely with other staff; including hiring, developing, motivating, and directing people.
Sales field experience a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop and grow supplier relationships.
Demonstrates an ability to lead within an matrixed organization.
General financial analysis skills and experience with a proven ability to understand business opportunities and risks and turn those insights into forecasts and actions.
Knowledge of the sales process and an ability to collaborate, influence and motivate a sales tea.
Highly collaborative; must be able to work with appropriate experts to solve problems and achieve results. Makes decisions and takes action to solve problems for team.
Ability to independently lead, consult, negotiate, and communicate at all levels of organization to influence and drive results.
Ability to collaboratively develop and engage others in a commitment to achieve the company’s strategy and objectives.
Demonstrates a commitment to Concordance’s vision, mission, values and strategic initiatives.
Working knowledge on contract construction and the ability to review, red line and draft language for discussion.
Understanding of project management and experience using project management tools.
Successfully pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check and drug screening.
