The primary role of the HR Coordinator is working directly with managers and employees across our 20+ locations on general Human Resources functions, with a primary focus on benefits and retirement. We are seeking a knowledgeable, meticulous individual with a persisting “employee as the customer” mindset to join our team. This person will aid in our goal of creating a work environment and culture that positively impacts lives, while solving tough issues that arise with employees, locations, and business initiatives. It’s imperative that this person has a deep understanding of regulatory requirements (and is able to research when presented with a unique situation) as we serve our diverse employee base. This is a full-time exempt position.
Proactively works with Concordance staff to ensure that the company’s HR needs are being met. Provides guidance to employees and managers by exhibiting a positive attitude while navigating through situations.
This position will be responsible for general HR day-to-day operations with a primary focus on benefits and retirement. Administers and maintains benefits programs for the organization with assistance from HR team.
Leads annual Open Enrollment process for medical and financial benefit programs
Recommends new benefit and retirement programs by gaining a deep understanding of employee needs and competitive analysis of similar organizations.
Serves as the back-up to the Executive Vice President of Human Resources in working with benefits broker regarding program efficiency, cost, and opportunities.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying new and existing legislation. Suggests changes based upon need and compliance, and makes recommendations for streamlining of processes. Stays up to date with any legal changes that affect these areas.
Educates and supports employees on current and future benefit offerings to optimize impact and understanding.
Acts as an advocate for employees to resolve issues related to benefit programs
Processes Payroll with other team members bi-weekly.
Assists other HR team members with posting of recruitments, finalizing of hires in system and entering of personnel forms in HRIS/Payroll system. For current employees, works with HR team to make changes to positions/managers, employment status, and personal information in HRIS/Payroll system.
Helps new hires with onboarding paperwork, ensuring documents are completed accurately and on time.
Addresses, investigates and resolves employee relations issues as they arise
Assists with the unemployment, Worker’s Compensation and FMLA processes. Researches and completes all related documents, maintains files, and prepares appeals, as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
This role can be located in Tiffin, Ohio or Earth City, Missouri

What You will Need to be Successful:
Bachelor’s degree or higher; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum of 3 years of Human Resources experience. Experience focused on benefit and/or retirement administration strongly preferred
Advanced computer skills required, including Microsoft Office applications. Strong working knowledge of Excel is highly preferred.
Ability to learn and incorporate new systems and technology quickly and efficiently is required
Previous experience with HRIS and/or Payroll systems, benefits, FMLA and process improvement are highly desired
Must be a self-directed and motivated team player with strong attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ideal candidate will have demonstrated decision making and problem solving skills
Broad working knowledge of the various areas of Human Resources desired
Ability to build relationships at various levels and influence decisions
