Position Summary: The janitor is responsible for cleaning, removing debris, and keeping the facilities in orderly, sanitary condition.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Clean buildings by emptying trash & sanitizing surfaces
- Clean, disinfect & replenish supplies in restrooms, breakrooms & locker rooms
- Clean windows, doors & surfaces
- Clean & polish furniture & fixtures
- Clean baseboards, walls, vents, & light coverings
- Sweep, mop, scrub, & vacuum floors / rugs
- Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors
- Wash and / or paint walls & doors
- Ensure interior / exterior walkways & sidewalks remain clear & free of debris
- Light maintenance & repairs of facility
- Exterminating insects as required
Working Conditions: This position works in a production environment with the risk of injury. Safety equipment & designated PPE must be worn at all times. This position requires an individual to stand, bend, kneel, reach, and twist. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs. is required. Must be able to tolerate legally permissible exposure to dust and chemicals.

Work Relationships and Scope: This position reports to the Human Resource Manager. Daily interaction is required amongst team members and office / shop personnel.
Performance Expectations: Safety, quality, accuracy, efficiency, reliability and thoroughness of work performed; gains the trust and respect of the shift supervisor and fellow team members; develops good working relationships with team members. Develops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change. Work to continuously improve the operations of the Company through lean activities and improvement suggestions.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: The janitor must be able to handle heavy equipment & machinery used in the cleaning process. They must have knowledge of cleaning chemicals, proper storage, and disposal methods. The janitor must be able to requisition supplies & equipment needed for cleaning & maintenance duties. The janitor must be able to work independently, follow directions, be a hard worker, have good interpersonal skills & have a high school diploma.
