HIRING MANAGER: Lisa Christman
Summary/Objective: Assist in directing, and coordinating the lawn and pet division in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve co-op’s efficiency, help achieve co-op’s mission and goals, resulting in outstanding customer service.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Primary duties require the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance on a consistent basis
Assist and help implement a marketing plan to establish Legacy Farmers as the preferred Lawn, Pet, Ornamental, and Feed Company
Help ensure that department facilities and equipment meet all Federal, State, and OSHA regulations
Maintain and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies
Self-motivated; ability to work well with others and independently
Assist the manager in purchasing products for resale that are quality, ensure costs of products will allow for competitive pricing and meet the co-op’s financial objectives, and set prices that are competitive with industry guidelines and local competitors
Help establish and communicate department goals and results to employees.
Help manager with employee performance reviews and feedback
Manage the Lawn & Pet department and employees when manager is absent.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities & Preferred Experience:
No overnight travel
Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard
Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test
Proficiency with computer

Working knowledge of ag business to be able to answer customer questions
Strong organization skills a must
Ability to handle customer calls, inquiries and orders in a timely and courteous manner
