Summary/Objective The production supervisor position is responsible for supervising shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This position plans and assigns work, implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions. Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. 4. Provide leadership through a 30-day planning cycle. 5. Manage QDRs. 6. Supervisory Responsibility Identify opportunities of improvement in process control and utilize the continuous improvement process to eliminate variation in the manufacturing system. This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Physical Demands The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., 40 hours per week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience 1. Associate¿s degree. 2. 3-5 years of experience in a production environment. Preferred Education and Experience 1. Bachelor¿s degree. 2. 5-8 years of experience in a production environment. 3. Previous quality management experience.
