Position Summary:

Responsible for the set up and assembly of service cells, tooling, and work area to maintain customer requirements for each individual job. Working with employees in the Service area this position will coordinate the manpower needed, training, and production schedule to ensure customer timing is met.

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Move and assemble the various service jobs within each of the different platform areas.

    • Coordinate production schedule to correct production jobs; ensure equipment is ready and tooling in house in order to operate machine and produce product.

    • Teach union employees how to set-up, select established tooling and workstations in a safety/efficient manner to operate. Assisting them as requested especially with new, difficult and/or complex tooling profiles to ensure the tool profile is correct and the part dimensions meet the customer specification.

    • Initiates approved print & programming modifications as directed

    • Performs troubleshooting of equipment recommending repairs or service to immediate manager for scheduling or working directly with Maintenance Department to repair.

    • Schedules and oversees the preventative maintenance schedule and daily cleanliness

    • Maintain material inventories and works with materials to replenishing.

    • Suggests improvements for material/tooling to reduce material/labor costs and/or reducing lead times for new/modified product development

    • Maintains a safe, clean, and orderly work environment at all times

    • Participates in and supports safety, quality, employee engagement, CI, and environmental initiatives (specifically including ISO14001 & IATF 16949 externally certified management systems)

    • Prepares and maintains reports, training records, drawings, material usage, etc. as directed

    • Elevates performance concern and day-to-day questions for clarification to immediate manager

    • Participates in kaizen and lean events

    • Perform as lead for in-house service tooling/production questions

    • May, on occasion, be required to perform duties other than those specified in this description


Work Environment/Work Conditions:

    • Professional Office Environment

    • Must wear proper personal protection equipment while on manufacturing floor

    • Travel to manufacturing facilities or customer locations when required

    • Equipment used requires proper training on the potential for and avoidance of injury

Job Requirements

Education and Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.

    • Associates degree in Tool Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or Manufacturing Technology or an applicable technical education equivalent is preferred.

    • Sealing manufacturing experience is preferred.

    • Interpersonal skills to effectively teach union employees how to select proper equipment, read work instructions, read production schedule, training using BTO techniques.

    • Statistical ability to analyze data to design and establish work methods

    • Proven self-starting/self-motivated capabilities to be able to prioritize and stay to task within established timeframes

    • Ability to design and oversee assemble and operation of tools on the production floor
