Job Description

The University of Findlay (www.findlay.eduis seeking a full-time marketing specialist. This position will provide strategic marketing leadership as the marketing specialist for the College of Business, College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, and College of Health Professions that is in line with the University’s overall marketing and enrollment management strategy.

Some evening and weekend work, and overnight travel are expectations of this position. A valid US Drivers’ license with a safe driving record is required.

Established in 1882 through a joint partnership between the Churches of God, General Counsel and the city of Findlay, the University of Findlay has nearly 80+ majors leading to baccalaureate degrees and offers 11 master’s degrees, a doctor of pharmacy, a doctor of physical therapy, a doctor of occupational therapy and an Ed.D. More than 3,700 students are enrolled at Findlay.  In addition, our faculty and staff strive to create a supportive community in which our students grow and find their path to a meaningful life and productive career.

Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is required, with at least six months’ work experience in a degree field from the colleges they would serve, and/or experience in public relations, advertising or marketing.  The candidate must possess strong personal communication skills, organizational skills and the ability to write according to Associated Press (AP) Style; attentiveness to details in respect to writing, proofreading, managing deadlines and scheduling your workload; ability to communicate effectively, either individually or in groups; ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines; and willingness to devote time necessary to the completion of tasks/projects or to assist with various University activities. Experience working in all major social media platform required. Marketing Specialists are responsible for creating new, relevant, and consistent content for their colleges that aligns with Findlay’s strategic marketing plan.

Preference given to candidates with internship or volunteer experience in public relations, advertising, marketing, journalism, communications or a related field. Knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint is preferred. Ability to learn new software and work comfortably within the Microsoft Office Suite, knowledge of a customer relationship management (CRM) system, preferred experience within the Adobe Suite, specifically Acrobat, InDesign and Photoshop.
