Direct, promote, sell and coordinate petroleum division in a manner that will optimize the cooperative’s market share and savings, improve co-op’s efficiencies, help achieve co-op’s mission and goals, and resulting in outstanding customer service.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Primary duties require the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance on a consistent basis.
Maintain attitude that promotes teamwork within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative
Supervise and responsible for petroleum division and financial results
Develop, implement and participate in a marketing plan to establish Legacy Farmers Cooperative as the preferred petroleum company. Establish goals and follow up to attain this status
Purchase petroleum products for resale that are quality, ensure costs of products will allow for competitive pricing and meet the co-op’s financial objectives, and set prices that are competitive with industry guidelines and local competitors
Prepare any necessary reports or study analysis and make Board presentations as necessary
Establish and communicate department goals and results to employees
Bring opportunities and ideas for growth to the CEO for consideration
Ensure that department facilities and equipment meet all Federal, State and OSHA regulations
Recommend equipment and facility replacement or asset additions needed to improve efficiencies and profitability
Develop and adhere to a scheduled preventative maintenance programs
Perform all other duties necessary to meet and exceed customer needs and expectations
Support the promotion, merchandising and displaying of products and services
Assist with hands-on training of respective personnel
Create an environment to enhance employee teamwork
Monitor and evaluate employees’ performance
Implement safety programs and conduct regularly scheduled safety meetings in conjunction with the Safety & Security Director

High school graduate with additional petroleum background
Responsible for equipment assigned, such as truck
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Self-motivated and ability to work well with others and independently
Required to uphold all of LFC’s Company, Credit and Safety policies
Strong interpersonal and verbal communications skills
Work with Safety & Security Director to manage our risks
Establish goals to attain growth in business as well as work as a team to enhance our efficiency to our customers
Miscellaneous Information & Preferred Experience:
No overnight travel
Uphold Cooperative’s policies and the Cooperative’s credit policy
Standard work week is Monday through Friday; needs of the business may dictate exceptions to this standard
Applicants agree to be drug tested as a condition of employment and will not be hired should he/she fail to produce a negative test
Good computer skills
Possesses flexibility and adaptability in meeting constraints and demands
