Job Description

Synergy PSM Corp., an industry leader in providing industrial services to the manufacturing industry, is seeking a skilled Process Technician to work at our customer’s sites. The Process Technician will be part of the Process Engineering Team, but will be assigned to a specific customer site as a home base. The Process Technician is responsible for monitoring, documenting and troubleshooting all paint system processes.

Principal Duties:

  • Perform paint defect data collection and analysis in an effort to reduce and eliminate paint defects
  • Use SPC guidelines to chart the data useful to the paint team
  • Perform air balance studies and troubleshooting of customer spray booths, ovens and associated equipment
  • Will also be required to perform routine paint system process checks, track paint process airflow, spray booth temperature/humidity data, monitor and made basic adjustments to washer/RO systems and monitor sludge systems as part of our Process Technician program
  • Take direction and perform daily job assignments as required
  • Follow established policies and procedures to ensure safe quality of services
  • Properly operate equipment, including a Fork-Lift (training will be provided, if required)
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work area, and promptly report an accident, injury, potential incidences or any unsafe work conditions in the work place
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Requirements:

  • This position requires a person to have the ability to perform work while sitting, standing or walking a minimum of eight hours a day and manage stairs, use ladders tools and test equipment
  • Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls; Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be flexible and be willing to work non-standard hours when required. This could involve weekends, holidays and off hour shifts
  • Most work will be performed within a manufacturing environment
  • Proper PPE must be worn at all times

Training / Experience:

  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree
  • Military experience is a bonus
  • Two year degree, technical certificate required, preferably in STEM field
  • Able to use a microscope and other defect analysis equipment
  • Able to use various types of air velocity and air pressure measurement instrumentation
  • The ability to think critically and solve problems logically is necessary
  • Communicate data clearly and efficiently to the paint team, both internally and with the customer (verbally and in writing)
  • Create customer sales proposals
  • Create purchase requisitions
  • Desire to learn required
  • Ability to work a full-time first shift schedule, arrive to work on a timely basis, perform weekend and overtime duties when requested
  • Basic experience within a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Familiarity within an automotive facility is a plus, but not necessary
  • Computer literate and skilled in Microsoft Power Point, Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Some travel to other customer’s sites will be required; Ample notification will be given; “Out of town” work expenses will be covered
