Job Description


Represents the Quality Manager in his/her absence.
Demonstrates ability to perform Quality Technician job functions.
Manages and leads problem solving activities for internal and external issues.
Manages customer relationships and performs customer plant visits as needed.
Capable of utilizing quality and problem-solving tools such SPC, GRR, capability studies, DOE, 8D, 5-why, etc.
Interfaces with engineering, customer, supplier, and production personnel to enhance introduction of new parts into production. Member of the Plant’s APQP Core Team for quality planning on new product.
Manages PPAP process and submission for new product, engineering and process changes as required.
Coordinates prototype documentation, tagging, and shipment.
Support MOS activities.
Initiates actions to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system.
Conducts new employee quality orientation as needed.
Has the authority to stop production operations concerning plant quality or safety issues.
Directs and works with:

Layout Technicians
Quality auditors
Quality Technicians
Quality wall personnel

Manages document control system for plant level documents.
Creates and updates controlled documents as necessary, such as control plans, PFMEAs, work instructions, inspection check sheets and reports.
Manage supply base.
Assist with the Environmental Management System (EMS) and ISO 14001 compliance.
Treats all other team members with respect and dignity.
Performs other essential functions as assigned.

Job Requirements


Four (4) year college degree in engineering or business-related field, or equivalent work experience in the manufacturing quality field.
Must have a good understanding of advance quality planning disciplines.
Working knowledge on manufacturing processes and environment.
Prefer four (4) years minimum experience in a quality management position in the automotive industry.
ASQ Certification (CQM, CQE, or CQA) preferred.
