Job Description

Oversees, maintains, and strives to improve National Machinery’s Quality Management System to achieve the company’s stated Quality Policy Objectives and Goals. Maintains up to date measurement equipment, techniques, and systems to ensure that quality is verified and validated in all of the company’s activities from the procurement process, thru all internal processes, and concluding with delivery and validation at the customer’s facility. When opportunities for improvement arise, they initiate, facilitate, and/or monitor all, Quality related, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives throughout the company. They develop and monitor systems to measure customer satisfaction for all external and internal customers. They use their knowledge of various Quality disciplines to advance the overall knowledge and culture of the company as they relate to Quality. Ensures product safety (including adherence to national and international standards) and ensures the employees’ commitment to safety remains embedded in the organizational culture. Manages the utilization of Quality department resources as needed in the New Machine, Rebuild, Service, and Met-Max areas. Maintain and further develop Quality department staffing. Oversees the creation of the annual departmental budget. Performs other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements

  • A thorough understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality System Standards.
  • Knowledgeable in the use of the latest Quality analysis tools (Six-Sigma, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc.).
  • Managerial experience, preferably in Quality Assurance activities.
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and professionally, either orally or in writing, with fellow employees (subordinates, peers, and superiors) and external associates (suppliers, customers, etc.).
  • Must have strong technical, analytical, and presentation skills as well as advanced skills in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Must be well organized, self-motivated, flexible, and able to work with little direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that allows insurability under company’s policy.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Office environment with frequent shop interaction.
  • May include walking and standing for long periods of time.
  • Occasional travel.
