Job Description

Position Summary

This position will provide support to the Office of Student Success and Life Design and will serve as the receptionist in Central Hall directing visitors, students, staff and faculty to appointments with the Academic and Career Planning and Life Design staff.

Essential Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Serves as a receptionist to greet and direct visitors, students, staff, and faculty to appointments with Academic and Career Planning Specialists and Life Design staff in Central Hall.
  • Answers Academic and Career Planning phone calls and voicemails and directs calls, as appropriate.
  • Assists in scheduling student appointments with Academic and Career Planning Specialists.
  • Reviews and responds to emails from the shared Academic and Career Planning email accounts.
  • Uses University systems such as CSS and EAB Navigate to support department functions.
  • Attends and participates in meetings and trainings for the Academic and Career Planning department.
  • Maintains shared room calendars for the Academic and Career Planning department.
  • Prepares and transmits written correspondence through e-mail, fax, or hard copy, as directed.
  • Coordinates and schedules meetings and special events for the Academic and Career Planning department.
  • Opens and distributes mail.
  • Maintains office equipment, including keeping photocopiers and printers stocked with toner and paper.
  • Serves as a liaison to campus partners for issues such as equipment or facility work orders.
  • Maintains accurate knowledge regarding undergraduate programs and policies.
  • Coordinates purchasing, maintains inventory of supplies, and places supply orders for the Academic and Career Planning department, as needed.
  • Assists Academic and Career Planning staff with special departmental projects and programs, as directed.
  • Completes other duties as assigned

  • Ability to query, run reports, and modify data in financial systems
  • Ability to access and maintain document imaging systems, including scanning and filing documents
  • Ability to operate computers and peripheral equipment such as printers
  • Ability to draft office correspondence

Salary

Full-time, Classified staff position available.  Classified Pay Grade 24/$14.21.   Full benefit package available.
