The Senior Network Architect provides technical expertise, strategic planning and recommendations to executive management for new technologies and network applications in response to business needs. This position works with internal partners to evaluate and design
solutions to meet business and customer requirements which will integrate with and enhance the network. The Senior Network Architect is responsible for fully testing and evaluating their solutions from end-to-end and delivering a refined product to the business.
Responsibilities
Evaluate alternative technologies and architectures in relation to Consolidated Communications’ infrastructure needs. Interface with management and vendors to develop and implement new solutions to meet business requirements.
Design and manage the rollout of critical network infrastructures to support Consolidated Communications’ products and services, on both a strategic (long term) and tactical (immediate term) level.
Perform analytical, technical, cost analysis and CAPEX development work in the planning, design, installation and on-going administration and management of Consolidated Communications’ core data networks.
Ensure that network infrastructure is fully documented and performing as required for internal and customer SLA guarantees and expectations by means of specific metrics and measurements.
Provide technical expertise to Product Development to develop new product strategies and enhance existing product sets.
Contributes to departmental activities and programs by accomplishing related tasks as needed.

Other Information
Pay Range (commensurate with skills and experience): $85,048 – $128,787

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of designing and operating large-scale MPLS networks. (IS-IS, OSPF, BGP, EVPN, Segment Routing and CGNAT).
Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Service Provider or Routing & Switching or CCNP SP or equivalent experience & demonstrated expertise.
Proficiency in Python for the purposes of automating repetitive network tasks.
Familiarity with network automation concepts such as intent-based networking and model-driven architectures (YANG).
Working knowledge of REST, RESTCONF and NETCONF interfaces. Cisco NSO experience is a plus.
Exceptional documentation and communication skills. Ability to explain complex technology to non-technical team members.
Working knowledge of VoIP networks. Metaswitch and Broadworks experience is a plus.
Working knowledge of virtual and containerized environments (AWS, VMWare, Kubernetes, Docker)
Familiar with high-speed VNF technologies including DPDK and SR-IOV
Superior knowledge, skills and experience with Cisco or Arista routing platforms.
Strong working knowledge of structured cabling, network facilities & electrical systems.
Ability to work alone as an individual contributor, as a technical lead and as a participant in a team environment.
Education/Experience
Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or Network Engineering with 7 (seven) or more years directly related experience in a telecommunications service provider network. (Proven technical experience may be substituted for educational requirement).
