Responsibilities

The production manager is responsible for all production, shipping and maintenance employees in the plant. He leads teams to attain plant goals including safety, quality, housekeeping and production. He is a coach that assists teams with problem solving activities. He will lead the employees in motivation, job training and perform performance reviews. He will implement lean manufacturing systems and procedures. Must interact with other departments to insure Quality of product produced. Must have leadership ability.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Leadership ability
• Produce weekly schedule for production in accordance with the set production plan
• Improve production and shipping efficiencies
• Maintain spending within the budget
• Support all other departments in the organization
• Maintain storage and capacity issues
• Develop strong teams to insure Quality of product produced and shipped
• Seek improvements throughout the organization
• Monitor production output and train to improve efficiencies
• Understand and practice ADS Core Values.
• Maintain accurate records for inventory and maintain employee records
• Hire and terminate employees as required

Job Requirements

Job Skills:

This position should possess the following skills/knowledge:

• Various computer operating systems (MS office/ Oracle)
• Team oriented and self motivated

• Ability to communicate at all levels within the organization
• Production and capacity planning
• Knowledge of inventory and supply chain principles and techniques

Educational Requirements:

• College degree or 6+ years’ experience in a fast pace production working environment
• Preferably plastics background

Preferred Experience:

• Some trade or apprenticeship experience
• 6+ years Supervisory experience

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift a maximum of 90 lbs
• Ability to work 40+ hour per week
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
• Ability to speak clearly
