Location: Wood County Board of Development Disabilities, Bowling Green, OH 43402
Department: Children’s Services
Division: School
Job Status: Part-Time
Shift: 8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
Days Worked: Mon., Tue., Wed., Thu.
Hour Per Week: 28 hours per week
Rate of Pay: $12.33 – $12.33
Details: These positions will support students at the school with complex disabilities. Summer Camp is from June 7,2021 – July 15, 2021.



Job Summary

We are seeking energetic and dynamic Summer Camp Student Attendants. 

The Wood County Board of Developmental Disabilities (WCBDD) coordinates services for over 1,000 people with developmental disabilities in Wood County. Our mission is to support, empower, and inspire all people. The ideal candidate will be a highly self-motivated problem solver, who is a team player with time management and leadership skills. 


Job Responsibilities

Provide for daily behavioral needs and/or health needs of assigned student.  Assist the Summer Camp Staff in planning and implementing all Summer Camp programming to assigned participants.  Present an active participation role in all Summer Camp activities.

Conditions of Employment

  1. Must be 18 years old.
  2. Successful completion of general orientation.
  3. Receipt of seven acceptable background required by ORC 3319.39 & OAC 5123:2-2-02.
  4. Must obtain and maintain any training, licenses, registration, or certification mandated by the Board and the State of Ohio.
  5. Must have a medical examination and a one-step PPD test to determine fitness for duty prior to providing direct care service or within 30 days of employment whichever comes first.
  6. Possess/maintain an acceptable motor vehicle record (if required for position) per board guidelines. NOTE: Use of personal vehicle for transporting individuals requires proof of liability insurance.
  7. Receipt of acceptable criminal background report from Bureau of Criminal Identification (BCI) and county sheriff ‘s office of permanent address before starting position as required by ORC 3319.39 & OAC 5123:2-2-02.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Experience Requirements

Must have high school diploma or equivalent.

Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.

Experience in a “summer camp” setting preferred.

Minimum Qualification Standards:

Must be able to move individuals who are receiving services including adults and children in a safe manner. Must be able to lift, carry and move office supplies, materials, and equipment required for day-to-day operations.

If required by the position you must maintain a current driver’s license in your residing state for the purpose of transporting individuals who are receiving services and/or operation of a Board owned vehicle.
