Systems Administrator
SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficiency of operations of in-house information systems; by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network software and associated operating systems. The systems administrator will apply proven communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills to help identify, communicate, and resolve issues to maximize the benefit of IT systems investments. This position will sustain the Mission and Motto and Food Safety and Quality Statement of the Mennel Milling Company.
PRIMARY WORK SHIFT: Monday through Friday 8AM – 5PM. Will vary, depending on workload.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without accommodation.
- Collaborate with network staff to ensure smooth and reliable operation of software and systems for fulfilling business objectives and processes.
- Works with the Director of IT, decision makers, and
- Manage the development, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and support of numerous IT systems, including servers, PCs, switches, hardware, software, programs, databases, peripherals, manufacturing equipment and telecommunications in a 24/7 production environment.
- Provide critical on-call support and 24/7 coverage for systems supported by the IT group
- Proactively protect the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of information processed by the company.
- Design and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications, software, and operating systems by conducting research to justify recommendation and to support purchasing efforts
- Carry out complex assignments requiring the development of new or improved procedures to increase efficiency and profitability wherever possible.
- Help develop & implement new policies, procedures, and processes to increase efficiency & profitability.
- Help define business and systems requirements for new technology implementations, including business case justifications and cost/benefit analysis.
- Conceptualize & communicate IT capabilities to help guide business leaders in the continuous improvement of business processes.
- Conceptualize solutions to address business needs through technology.
- Mentor and provide guidance to the IT staff to assist in daily IT department operations; including training team members in the use of new technology where needed.
- Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no supervisory duties.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree in IT preferred.
- Three to six years’ related work experience preferred but not required.
- Proven organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
- Strong customer service-oriented mind-set with the ability to work with all levels of employees; while expressing high levels of self-motivation with keen attention to detail.
- Communicates ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language
- Ability to support team members and equipment outside a traditional office setting including those out-of-state (some travel may be required up to 20%)
- Ability to learn new technologies with minimal training
- Strong technical knowledge with broad understanding of Microsoft environment; including but not limited to AD/O365/SharePoint/SQL/SSRS.
- Proficient in industry-standard tools and best practices; including but not limited to VMware, VEEAM, SAN, Disaster Recovery, mobility.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Prior technical experience with WMS, MRP, CRM, EDI, B2B, and ERP implementations and support is a plus
- Self-motivating and able to oversee multiple small and medium sized projects through to completion with limited oversight

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, procedures, and plans. Ability to write, complete checklists and other basic documentation and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information or data in one-on-one and small group situations to co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY: Must use solid judgment when making decisions. Must have ability to quickly recognize and plan for changing work duties and events.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to perform maintenance tasks, reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
