The University of Findlay (www.findlay.edu) is seeking a full-time trades laborer & preventive maintenance, responsible for multiple aspects of skill levels, with specific daily duties focusing on basic plumbing & HVAC maintenance. Other duties may include the following: carpentry, event set up, flooring installation, demolition, and other duties as assigned by Management. This position will require overtime to cover special projects, events, and snow removal. Also, this position is on a call-in rotation with other Physical Plant employees.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at campus job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full range of mobility in upper and lower body; be able to reach overhead; be able to work in various positions, including stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time; be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks; and be able to frequently lift 50 pounds of weight throughout the assigned workday.
