The University of Findlay invites applications for a Visiting Instructor or Visiting Assistant Professor of Theatre beginning in August 2021 in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. This is a full-time position with the opportunity for renewal or for application to a tenure-track position. The theatre program offers a BA in theatre with emphases in performance and production/design.

The preferred candidate will be a theatre generalist with a terminal degree (MFA or PhD) in acting, directing, or theatre; two years of college teaching experience; and professional acting and/or directing experience. For appointment as a Visiting Assistant Professor, a terminal degree is required. Candidates who are ABD or who possess a Master’s degree and relevant experience will be considered for the rank of Visiting Instructor. The workload includes teaching 3-4 courses per semester and directing 1 – 2 shows during the academic year. Candidates will be expected to teach a wide range of underrate courses including, but not limited to Theatre, various levels of Acting and Directing, Voice and Movement, Audition Technique, and Theatre Literature and History.
The successful candidate must be committed to student-centered education and demonstrate the ability to contribute collaboratively to the program in a variety of capacities including recruitment, experiential learning, and production management.
