Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Have ongoing contact with the pregnant or breastfeeding participants, at the clinics, on the telephone (in the clinic or at home as required), by mail, or through social media. Offer information and support to the community and to participants concerning: Positioning and latch-on, How to tell if baby is getting enough, How to make milk, Normal infant behavior, How to return to work or school, How to wean. Make referrals to the Lactation Consultant or other appropriate health care professional when appropriate. Complete documentation on all nursing mothers. Assist with group classes, conduct breastfeeding support meetings. Issue breast pumps. Serve as a breastfeeding resource person to WIC staff. Maintain equipment and supplies necessary for the job. Assist with clinic and health fair displays. Maintain the Seneca County WIC Nutrition and Breastfeeding Support Facebook page and post related information and education for the community. Perform related duties as required.
COMPENSATION: Pay Grade 1: $10.66-$13.70 per hour, based on experience.

Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have breastfed one baby for at least six months; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups; ability to present ideas clearly and concisely; ability to maintain information in strict confidentiality; understanding of office equipment, including computers, with a knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint; ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Must possess valid Ohio Driver License.
Must complete minimum of 20 hours of State approved training; and obtain 6 hours of continuing education credit per year in the field of lactation
