The Tiffin Developmental Center has an opening for a Part Time RN. Must have a valid RN license issued by the Ohio Board of Nursing.
Provides nursing and psychiatric care to individuals (e.g., assesses and evaluates nursing and medical needs of individuals at Tiffin Developmental Center; initiates and directs implementation of nursing care plan; observes, evaluates and records individual behavior, condition and response to medication, treatments and therapeutic activities; provides professional nursing care such as administering medications and treatment, assisting with physical examinations, and taking and recording vital signs; performs skilled nursing procedures when necessary [suctioning, catheterization, airway insertion, and venipuncture]; responds to emergencies and initiates appropriate care). Mandatory hours are required for this position.
Prepares and reviews records and reports (e.g., prepares and reviews unusual incidents, infection control, nursing care plans, shift reports, transfers, admissions and discharges; transcribes and/or verifies doctors’ orders; writes and reviews treatment plans; writes nursing summaries; performs quarterly assessments, documents results and assures follow-up of problem areas).
Acts as nurse case manager for designated group of individuals (e.g., responsible for developing and updating care plans, annual essential healthy lifestyle plans and all other care and documentation regarding assigned individuals; participates as interdisciplinary team member in annual reviews, psychotropic medication reviews, and special team meetings).
Performs other job-related duties as assigned (e.g., orders supplies, maintains a safe and sanitary environment; attends seminars and in-service training programs; reviews meeting minutes and policy and procedure changes; assists with orientation of new nursing services employees; assists with employee PPD testing; assists with work injury assessment or other medical needs).

- Part-time position, estimate 32 hours per week.
- Work 8-hour shifts including week-ends and holidays – mandatory hours are required. Schedule rotation provides for every other week-end off.
- Position is available on 2nd shift. Shift hours are:
- 2nd Shift 2:20PM to 10:50PM (includes ½ hour unpaid meal break)
- Hourly rate starts at $28.31. Those assigned to 2nd shift receive an additional $1.25 per hour of shift differential for any hours worked on 2nd or 3rd shift.

Requires current license as registered professional nurse in state of Ohio as issued by Board of Nursing per Section 4723.03 of Revised Code. Knowledge of professional nursing procedures; psychiatric or developmentally disabled nursing*; employee training & development*; state & federal regulations, policies & procedures as related to nursing; public relations*; counseling*. Skill in operation of medical equipment. Ability to deal with some abstract but mostly concrete variables; write meaningful, concise & accurate reports; demonstrate physical fitness. The final candidate selected for the position will be required to undergo a criminal background check. Rule 5123-2-02 “Background Investigations for Employment,” outlines disqualifying offenses that will preclude an applicant from being hired by the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities.
